Rumors
Rumors is a collection of short stories examining how church rumors affect people. Rumors about a prominent pastor and a famous Gospel singer are being spread. One church member goes the extra mile to determine if the rumor is true. But the pastor's spouse doesn't do the same thing. On the same day that the pastor decides to address the rumor, the distress and pain of the situation are too much for the pastor's spouse, and a tragedy occurs. This heartbreaking story will have you examining how rumors affect your own life.

Love Dictates is a chapbook comprised of twenty poems, fifteen of written in one of the identified poetic forms from the book entitled The Shapes of Our Singing and five written in free verse. The poems were written for English 570 (Ethnic Voices: Poetry). Works included mimic a number of forms; Tripadi, Than-Bauk, Ya-Du, Chí-Yen-Shih Metre, Chueh-Chu I, Chueh-Chu II, Wu-Yen-Shih Metre, Acrostic, Blues Stanza, Burns Stanza, Echo Verse I, Echo Verse II, and Lai.

Religion has played a role in the lives of African Americans for centuries. Sermons, Religion, and the Civil Rights Movement looks at how Sermons and Religion was used during the Civil Rights Movement. It discusses specifically how the sermon was used as rhetoric to inspire people and a nation to move to change. Several Civil Rights leaders are discussed: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev. Fred L. Shuttlesworth, Rev. Ralph Abernathy, and Rev. James Lawson. While most of the document discusses Dr. King, some lesser-known ministers who helped the movement through their sermons and speeches are honored.
Shenanigans * My Poetry Chapbook - Summer 2013
Shenanigans is an experiential learning project comprised of 12 poems. It highlights the main essence of the readings from English 563 (Survey of World Literature). It is a chapbook of poetry that “rewrites” prose or drama works into poetic format. Original prose or dramatic works include works from Ancient India, India’s Classical Age, Encounters with Islam, Europe and the New World, Enlightenment in Europe and the Americas, Realism across the World, Modernity and Modernism, Postwar and Postcolonial Literature, and Contemporary World Literature.
